Attendance

It is a requirement that all children over the age of 6 attend school. As per intake policy children can start earlier than 6. It is a teachers’ responsibility to collect attendance data every day. It is the parents responsibility to ensure that their children attend school and on time; and to notify the school when children are absent or late. It is the school’s responsibility to follow up unexplained absences and/or lateness.

It is Department for Education policy that the school is provided with a reason for each absence (eg. illness, family reasons) either by phone, email or using the absent or late notification slips. These forms are available from the classroom or front office or can be downloaded from the link below. Children who arrive at school after 8:45 am are recorded on the roll with ‘L’ signifying lateness. Please notify the school if your child will not be at school. The school will send you a text message if they are not at school. Please reply with a reason for their absence.

If your child is going to be absent for an extended time (3 days or more), please collect an exemption form from the Front Office or use the link below. Exemption forms are for reasons such as family holidays, personal and religious reasons.
